This is Your Home: Williamson County, Texas

Look around and take in all you have. The rivers, the low-lying prairie areas east of the Balcones Escarpment, the blackland prairies, the endless ribbon of country road running through rich farmland. And West of the Escarpment is the beginning of the “upland” Texas Hill Country, characterized by rocky terrain with thin layers of soil lying on top of limestone. . Interstate 35, the main artery of Williamson County, runs along the fault line dividing the two distinct regions. As residents ofWilliamsonCounty, we’re all blessed beyond measure with a natural beauty that’s easily envied by any city dweller.

The Hill County areas are characterized by their porous “vugular” (honeycombed) rock where rain water slowly percolates down to replenish the underground Edwards Aquifer. For that reason development restrictions are in place and several endangered species are being protected by the US Fish and Wildlife Service.I’m Gregory Scott Windham, I’m a Republican running for Williamson County Commissioner, and I’m proud to live in a community with such great history and even more promising potential.

I’d be honored to have the opportunity to work with you and our county’s leaders to help unlock all the possibilities that our great county holds.

Leading Our County in a New Direction

I’d like to be part of an effort that leads our county in a new direction of hope and restoration and away from sprawl and debt. Doing what’s best for our community, capping our county debt, and downsizing our county government are my initial objectives. Now is the time for a conservative approach to water shortages, drought conditions, and debt creation.

Here are some key principles at the core of my leadership that I believe can help our county see some positive change. I call them the three “C’s” :

Communication: Let’s keep lines of communication open between the commissioner’s office, the county offices, the towns, and, of course, the residents of Williamson County.

Cooperation: In order for our community to move forward in a spirit of cooperation, we all need to work together so that our county can achieve its goals.

Cultivation: We all know that cultivation involves planting something new and fresh that encourages growth. “Tilling” in some new ideas can help us get growing and expand on the great gifts we already enjoy right here in our county.

Voting for me ensures you a voice in the future of our county’s natural resources.

The San Gabriel Rivers, Lake Georgetown, Berry Creek, and San Gabriel Park will be appropriately protected.
