Like you, I’m proud to call Williamson County my home. I was born and raised here in Central Texas; I am a graduate of theUniversity of Texas and am a small business owner. I spent much of my youth with my grandparents inWest Texas and learning to be self-reliant. They had grown up in the depression and were extremely fiscally conservative and devoted to work ethic. I have been married to the wonderful wife since I was 25 years old. I am blessed by her and my four charming children: Mary Blake, William Joseph, Gunnar Luke and Jake West.
My grandmother was a tax-assessor for the school district and my grandfather was theCountyDirector. I spent many mornings in Commissioner’s Court before I was 12 years old, Talk around the dinner table for our family was often centered on local issues and good old Texas sports.
As a young adult, I spent some time away from our community in Ft.Worth. After my return nearly 15 years ago, I’ve come to realize there’s no other place I’d rather be. The things I enjoy most about Williamson County, I know I can’t get anywhere else. The people are friendly and devoted to community and learning.
Every work day, I get to spend time with people making Williamson County their home or business. Helping them expect a quality of life in their home or prosperity in their business has been a fulfilling and fruitful occupation for me. On the weekends in the summer, you’ll catch me managing Little League baseball teams down at San Gabriel Park. I have had a team for the last 17 seasons and it’s a passion. As an advocate for children, I have worked with children coming out of broken and abused homes and adjusting to life in foster care.
In pursuing the role of Commissioner, I am posturing myself to serve you as a citizen of Williamson County and I am fulfilling a personal goal. In the best way I know how, I will use this position of influence to represent your voice in our local government and work with county employees in a spirit of cooperation rather than a perch of retaliation.
I want to be part of a team that makes the “people factor” a priority. I’m a servant leader who takes everybody on equal grounds. I’m fiscally conservative with spending, dedicated to obtaining the facts necessary to making good, sound decisions which will positively affect your life and the lives of others.
I’m running for Williamson County Commissioner because of my deep-set desire to see that residents like you are cared for and treated fairly. Looking out for the people will always be a priority for me.
Are you ready to see Williamson County step up to its full potential? Are you hoping for a certain type of servant leadership that can help take it there? Then, could you do something for me? On April 3, I’ll need you to vote for me, Gregory Scott Windham, for the Republican nomination for the office of Williamson County Commissioner Precinct 3.
After I gain that nomination, please keep talking to your friends and relatives about me because in the fall of 2012, I’ll need you to help elect me as Williamson County Commissioner. Together we can make this happen.
